Some of you may not know who the Starlights are, and for that we can blame DIC and a society in the 90s that couldn’t seem to handle the girls to guys to girls transformation of the Sailor Starlights, thus leaving us without the final season of the original anime. Thankfully, Kodansha has rereleased the manga in North America, and with Sailor Moon Crystal heading into a new season soon, there is hope we’ll finally get to see the Arc the way it was meant to be seen. (My fingers are also crossed Viz gives us the original version since they’re rereleasing the original anime, slowly but surely.)
This was the fourth set to come boxed beautifully, housing my new chibis carefully while they were shipped from Japan (and spent months on a cargo ship which explains why I received some of them well past their release date).
(Left to Right: Sailor Starlight Maker, Eternal Sailor Moon, Sailor Starlight Fighter, Sailor Chibi-Chibi/Cosmos, Sailor Starlight Healer)
Look at them! They are real and I own them!! *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*
Eternal Sailor Moon is adorable. However, mine has a small flaw on her right pigtail, a rough black, unpainted bump that at some point I might try to smooth out and paint to match. But then again I might not for fear of destroying her. It’s not like these grow on trees.
Sailor Chibi-Chibi/Cosmos, you are just too freaking cute!!! I’ve always been a fan of this teeny tiny version of Sailor Cosmos. It’s no wonder that when I first started reading the Stars Arc that I assumed she was another of Usagi & Mamoru’s children.
Last, but certainly not least, are the Starlights. Maker, Fighter, and Healer are depicted in their fuku (and I’m hoping they’ll get a School Life or Idol Life version) with matching navy blue stands. There is a huge need for more Starlights merchandise and maybe we’ll see more as we get closer to Crystal reaching that final arc.
