The Xbox Deal of the Week is always hit or miss for me. Too often it’s just a bunch of maps for shooter games that don’t interest me. That changed a couple of weeks back when I noticed that Torchlight was on sale for 800 points. I’d heard great things about the PC version of the game, and when I asked my friends for their advice on the XBL port their comments swayed me into taking the plunge. (more…)

Pepsi Dry (Import)

Pepsi: my favourite addiction. So delicious my taste buds tingle just at the thought of drinking the stuff. Regular, Wild Cherry, Crystal or Throwback, I love my Pepsi.

While making my bi-weekly rounds on J-List, I saw a listing for Pepsi Dry. A “non-sweet” cola drink promising a refreshing taste. I didn’t want to miss out on this new flavour as I had the Mont Blanc Pepsi they’d released about a year ago in Japan, so I made sure that I had a bottle of it on my shopping list. (more…)

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (Project Backlog)

Status: Finished everything but the Mages’ Guild quests
Achievements: 54 of 60
Gamerscore: 1150/1250
DLC Purchased: Every last bit of DLC, including that ridiculous Horse Armor (only because it was on the GOTY disc)

Somehow I find it very fitting that the first game from Project Backlog that I am crossing off the list is actually the first Xbox 360 game I ever finished. Let me clarify that – the first game I finished before I had an Xbox Live gamertag. (more…)

The Rampage of Haruhi Suzumiya

In this fifth installment in the Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series, Kyon narrates a few important events that took place during his first year with the members of the SOS Brigade.

Fans of the anime will recognize the first story in this collection as it comprised the majority of the second broadcast season. In Endless Eight, Kyon notices that he’s having a lot of deja vu moments in the last two weeks of summer vacation. Somewhere between running all over the place to cram in all of the summer activities Haruhi wants the Brigade to experience, Kyon learns the disturbing truth from Nagato, Koizumi and Asahina.
