Project Backlog – Summer 2013 Update #1

So, I had all these great plans for June and July. I was going to power through at least 2 games a month to whittle down my backlog. Sounds good, right? Productive, too. Well….

Animal Crossing happened.

I had started Professor Layton & the Miracle Mask which had been sitting on my nightstand since it launched and was neglected when I actually got my 3DS XL at Valentine’s Day because I was addicted to Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Last week, ThinkGeek announced they had some Borderlands 2 Limited Edition Diamond Plate Loot Chest replicas licensed from Gearbox for sale on the site. When you open up the ugly brown shipping box, you will see this grey Hyperion Mail Service box, sent from H. Jack (H is for Handsome) to the Vault Hunters. According to the content listing, he is sending us the heads of Helena Pierce and Roland, as well as whatever matter he scraped off the ground after what happened to Bloodwing. Thankfully, no heads are actually inside the box. (more…)

As a married gamer, there are times when you just want to have fun playing a cooperative adventure together. Sadly, it had been quite some time since Matt and I sat down and spent hours upon hours gaming together. Sure, there was that period back in January and February when we jumped on the Skylanders bandwagon, but as much fun as that experience was, it was not the massive gun toting, free for all killing spree type of game that really gets us going.  (more…)
